Consultation is open on the proposed rules and data standards that will support the Digital ID Act 2024 when it commences later this year.
The Digital ID (Accreditation) Rules and Digital ID (Accreditation) Data Standards set out requirements, including fraud management, security, privacy, accessibility and usability, for providers seeking accreditation. The Digital ID Rules set out the requirements for services participating in the Australian Government Digital ID System including additional requirements to protect the privacy and security of individuals who use the Australian Government Digital ID System.
This is a further round of public consultation on the draft rules which have been updated to reflect feedback from previous consultation held in late 2023.
The Act and proposed rules and data standards will provide strong regulation for accredited Digital ID providers to make sure they keep people’s information private and secure, if they choose to create and reuse a Digital ID to access online services.
Help shape the privacy, accessibility, usability, security and fraud control requirements for Australia’s Digital ID System.
