The Australian Science Policy Fellowship Program is an initiative of the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) that gives scientists the opportunity to work in an Australian Government department for up to one year.
It seeks to grow the diversity of expertise in the APS workforce by providing a pathway for early and mid-career scientists with up to 15 years post-PhD experience to become skilled policy practitioners. It also provides researchers the opportunity to gain an understanding of policy processes that they can take back to academia.
Throughout the program year, Fellows and their Managers can receive mentorship from Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Cathy Foley.
