The Commonwealth Procurement and Contract Management Awards for Excellence (the Awards) help promote the important role procurement plays in delivering services and outcomes for government, citizens and the business community.
An initiative of the Centre of Procurement Excellence, the aim of the Awards is to raise the profile of procurement in Commonwealth entities - lifting the capability of the Commonwealth procurement cohort, driving effective engagement with the business community and demonstrating a commitment to excellence in procurement.
For the 2024 Awards, we have three awards categories and the Supplier Spotlight, which is an initiative aimed at recognising suppliers who have delivered economic, social or climate positive benefits, through their participation in Commonwealth procurement.
The Awards include the following categories:
Building Entity Capability
The Building Entity Capability category recognises leadership or excellence in building procurement and/or contract management capability across an entity or across the APS value for money is delivered throughout the procurement lifecycle.
Generating Broader Benefits to the Australian Economy through Procurement
The Generating Benefits for Australia through Procurement category recognises strategies or approaches to a procurement which generate outcomes and value to Australia above and beyond the value of the goods and services being procured.
Encouraging Environmental Sustainability through Procurement
The Encouraging Environmental Sustainability through Procurement category recognises leadership in using recycled content and embedding environmental sustainability into procurement design and delivery, including the management of the ongoing arrangement.
Supplier Spotlight
The Supplier Spotlight seeks nominations from entities of suppliers who have delivered economic, social or climate positive benefits, through their participation in Commonwealth procurement.
The Supplier Spotlight is not associated with an award; but rather intends to showcase the experience of suppliers engaging with the Commonwealth, and the types of contributions that Commonwealth suppliers can make to the Australian community, industry sectors, local communities, and the broader Australian economy.
