What is the Finance People Capability Framework?

Finance’s People Capability Framework is a set of behaviours, skills, and knowledge required for successful performance in a particular role and is an indication of the behaviours that the Department values and rewards.

The framework is designed to drive performance and build talent by providing you with clear and consistent performance expectations at each classification.

The framework incorporates two elements:

  • Core capabilities – a set of five capabilities defined by clear and consistent performance expectations for all classifications - Lead, Collaborate, Achieve, Think and Learn.
  • Professional/technical capabilities – opportunity to incorporate the unique technical skills, professional qualifications and experience required of individual job roles - Know.

When applying for a job opportunity with Finance, you will be asked to align your skills, experience and suitability for a role against the People Capability Framework and the job specific capabilities.
