In February 2018, Finance approached the market through a Request for Proposal to continue to operate GovCMS, a whole-of-government content management system. Following an evaluation process, Finance has selected Salsa Digital as the preferred supplier, who has partnered with amazee.io as their subcontractor. Salsa Digital is an Australian based Small Medium Enterprise (SME) that will provide Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) hosting on the public cloud with Amazon Web Services (AWS), using the Drupal open source Content Management System (CMS). Salsa Digital will offer support and program management in close collaboration with Finance, while amazee.io will manage the underlying hosting platform and infrastructure.
The new hosting arrangements will be available for GovCMS customers before the end of 2018. Finance will manage the migration of existing SaaS websites to the new platform, and will work with agencies to migrate PaaS sites across once SaaS migrations are complete.
GovCMS websites will operate in a fully containerised environment which will reduce and simplify agency development efforts, with the same setup and configuration across environments. All SaaS websites will be highly available, with a guaranteed uptime of 99.99% and have self-healing capabilities. PaaS websites can elect for the higher availability option.

An agency information session about the changes to the platform will be held in Canberra on 28 September 2018, with an option to join remotely. Formal invitations will be sent to existing GovCMS customers and interested agencies in late August 2018.
A separate information session will be arranged to brief industry, interested developers and the open source Drupal community later this year.
