Government Response to the independent review of the impact of the implementation of the 1 July 2022 changes to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules on small and medium enterprises

The Inquiry was referred to the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) by the Minister for Finance, Katy Gallagher.
The Commonwealth Procurement Rules were updated from 1 July 2022 to target 20 per cent of procurements by value to be sourced from small and medium enterprises, explicitly encourage entities to approach multiple suppliers when procuring from a panel arrangement, and consider the disaggregation of large projects into smaller packages to maximise competition where appropriate.
