This two and a half day training program, facilitated by Australian Government Solicitor (AGS), is focused on all key legal and governance matters relating to the establishment and operations of a Commonwealth Government Business Enterprise (GBE).
AGS will introduce participants to relevant legal and governance concepts, then through various scenarios, apply and test these concepts to a hypothetical GBE scenario, supporting interactive discussion and classroom exercises. This will ensure participants are able to see how the theory is relevant to their day-to-day work. This program will cover:
- all key legal and governance matters related to establishing a GBE
- relevant commercial and investment law and practice generally
- company and commercial law basics
- PGPA framework for GBEs
- Commonwealth relationship with the directors of a GBE
- an introduction to funding a GBE
- analysis of project risk
- probity, process and information management information
- Commonwealth oversight of GBE activities including a practical example.

- APS, EL and SES level Commonwealth employees.
