The Government announced an independent review into its regulatory impact assessment (RIA) process in December 2011. The Joint Review is seeking views from the public on the issues raised in its terms of reference and in general about the functioning of the Australian Government's RIA process. The Joint Review will hold private consultation meetings with business operators, industry groups, representatives from the not-for-profit sector, the Government and the public sector from 14 February to 7 March 2012. Written submissions are invited by 16 March 2012.
