Expatriate Insurance Cover
From 1st July 2011, Comcover will include cover for Expatriate medical expenses within the 2011/2012 Comcover Insurance Policy [
- 275 KB]. This is the first new policy section since the Fund was originally established in 1998.
This new section will reduce the inconsistencies in the many differing arrangements of Fund Members, whilst moving towards a whole-of-government approach to the handling of overseas deployed staff and their families.
It is designed to reduce the administration burden, streamline the claims process whilst providing broad and cost effective coverage. For an overview, please see the Expatriate Insurance Process [
91 KB] and Expatriate Claims Process [
- 101 KB]
To arrange cover, Agencies need simply complete a Schedule of Expatriates [
- 92 KB] and return it your Comcover Members Services (CMS) Account Manager.
Agencies that require cover for any Expatriates with a pre-existing condition will need to complete a Pre-Existing Conditions Application Form [
- 432 KB].
CMS will then assess and advise the Agency whether cover is accepted and at what terms.
This Schedule of Expatriates [
- 92 KB] is required to be updated as and when a change is made.
For more information, please see the Frequently Asked Questions PDF Document [
