Comcover Benchmarking Program

Background

The benchmarking program has been a key element of Comcover's risk management services since 2001.

Benchmarking your entity’s risk management framework and capability provides the opportunity to review and measure how successfully risk management has been integrated into business operations from an enterprise-wide perspective, and to assist in identifying areas for improvement and prioritising risk management activities.

Benchmarking provides entities with the opportunity to:

  • drive a focus on risk management by providing tailored information that allows Senior Executive and accountable authorities to review whether the entity's investment in its risk management framework is appropriate for its operations
  • review and measure their entity's risk management capability against a risk maturity model
  • compare performance with other entities in order to benchmark the entity's risk management capability with that of its peers.

2017 Benchmarking Survey

The benchmarking survey assesses the maturity of an entity's risk management framework against the nine elements of the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy. Findings from the survey can be used to inform accountable authorities whether they are meeting their duties under section 16 of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 - to establish and maintain appropriate systems of risk oversight, management and internal control of their entity.

The 2017 benchmarking survey is now closed and results will become available at the end of May. An email will be sent to risk and benchmarking contacts advising when results are available.
