This presentation breakfast was aimed at agency executives and provided the opportunity to celebrate with the award-winning agencies as they received their commendations from the Special Minister of State, the Hon Gary Gray AO MP.

Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) | Winner | Risk Initiative Category
The Bio-Security Service's Group (BSG) within DAFF has provided an excellent example of initiative development and implementation with this Sea-cargo Container Risk Management Policy (SCRMP). This initiative demonstrates the importance of data, culture change management, and stakeholder relationship management in successfully implementing a risk management framework.

Australian Taxation Office (ATO) | Highly Commended | Risk Initiative Category
In order to better manage business non-compliance risk the ATO researched best practice world-wide and developed a model that used both qualitative and quantitative data to classify business taxpayers according to risk parameters. The filters used by the model enable the ATO to better manage risk profiles and provide greater transparency of its operations.
Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) | Highly Commended | Enterprise-wide Management Category
FaHCSIA has developed a risk management system that is fully integrated into its corporate governance framework through the a systematic, coordinated executive-led development and implementation process. The agency has learnt from previous experience, staff surveys, audit evaluations, and networking with other agencies, and effectively promoted and embedded this into corporate culture.
Murray Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) | Highly Commended | Enterprise-Wide Management Category
The MDBA acknowledged at its inception that it needed a robust enterprise-wide risk management framework to deliver it objectives. Secured in a strong governance framework the agency is able to address significant risks associated with the Government's commitment to ensuring the sustainable management of the Murray Darling basin region.
