Briefing on a new Parliamentary Expenses Management System (PEMS)

Author:
John Sheridan - FAS Technology & Procurement

Hi all,

Finance is tasked with building a new PEMS. In response to the report of the Review Committee: An Indpendent Parliamentary Entitlements System, the new system will transform the systems used currently by Ministerial and Parliamentary Services (M&PS) and the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority (IPEA) in their role of administering and delivering work expenses for parliamentarians and their staff.

We are seeking ideas and advice on how existing Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud based solutions would meet some or all of the 15 core system capabilities (details in the attachments). We expect that the solution will improve the speed and quality of services through a secure online portal and integration of system components.

To begin this process, as we have just announced on AusTender, Finance is conducting a PEMS Industry Day on Friday 7 July from 10.00 to 11.00 am where we'll provide further information.

The briefing will be held at:

50MC Theatre

Department of Education and Training

50 Marcus Clarke Street

Canberra, ACT 2600

The Industry Briefing will also be available to view online live via web-cast.

If you're attending the briefing in person, sign in is from 9.30 am. Easy access to the 50MC Theatre is available via a side door located on Marcus Clarke St directly opposite the childcare centre.

Please advise your intent to attend the Industry Briefing (in person or on web-cast) via email to AusPEMS@finance.gov.au no later than 5.30 pm Thursday 6 July 2017. We'll provide you with webcast details on receiving your intent to attend. If you have any questions before then, you can post them in comments here or use the email address.

I look forward to seeing you at the PEMS Industry Briefing.

Will you be recording the webcast for future review?
Thanks

Yes, a recording of the webcast will be made available for viewing after the event. I'll post details once it is available.

John
