Graduate Recruitment Process

Step 1: Apply online

Applications for the 2017 Graduate Program will open 25 February 2016 and close on 5 April 2016.

The online application will have a series of questions for you to answer. You will also need to provide a current resume, academic transcript and proof of Australian citizenship.

Step 2: Online exercise

If your application is successful you will be asked to complete an online written exercise. This exercise is designed to assess your analytical, comprehension and written skills.

Step 3: Assessment Centres

Based on your results from the online written test, you may be invited to participate in an Assessment Centre. These Assessment Centres are conducted in Canberra. If you are located in another State, Finance will arrange for your flights to Canberra for the day.

This gives you a chance to see where you could be working, get a feel for Canberra and attend a networking lunch for you to meet current Graduates and senior managers from across the department. Assessments on the day include:

  • Group exercise
  • Written exercise
  • Interview

Step 4: Offer of employment

If you are successful in the assessment process, we will contact you to discuss an offer of employment with the department.
