Government Businesses Advice Branch oversees and manages the Government's shareholding in Government Business Enterprises (GBEs), and advises on the appointment and remuneration of GBE Boards and CEOs.
Insurance and Risk Management Branch (Comcover)

The Insurance and Risk Management Branch administers Comcover, the Australian Government´s self managed insurance fund, and works to promote best practice risk management in Australian Government agencies. The Comcover Fund operates by collecting premiums from participating members to provide training, education, risk management evaluation services, and to meet any insurance claims that may arise.
Comcover's operational tasks, including risk management services, underwriting, claims management, actuarial services, and reinsurance are outsourced to the private sector.
Special Claims and Land Policy Branch

The Special Claims and Land Policy Branch provides advice to the Minister for Finance and Deregulation and the Minister for Revenue on requests for act of grace payments and waiver of debts under the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 as well as processing requests within departmental delegations. As well, the Branch assists the Minister with his portfolio responsibilities in relation to the acquisition and disposal of property interests for Commonwealth purposes, (including the Commonwealth Property Disposal Policy and the Lands Acquisition Act 1989) and the management of the Public Works Committee Act 1969.

Property Branch is responsible for the management of the Australian Government's domestic non-Defence property portfolio. The portfolio includes a diverse range of property types including office buildings, law courts and other special purpose properties, public interest properties, heritage buildings, residential properties and vacant land. Day-to-day management of the property portfolio is outsourced.

The Project Inception Branch is responsible for the inception (planning) phase of domestic non-Defence major capital works projects up to the presentation of the submission to the Parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on Public Works.
Project Delivery Branch

The Project Delivery Branch is responsible for the construction and delivery of domestic non-Defence major capital works projects following completion of the Public Works Committee processes. Current projects include the refurbishment of the Royal Australian Mint, the fitout of the ANZAC Park West building and planning activities associated with the proposed redevelopment of the Villawood Immigration Detention Centre.

The Commonwealth Property Review Branch is responsible for the Commonwealth Property Management Framework, to improve the governance, planning and whole of government co-ordination of property management across Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 agencies.

The Procurement Division is responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining the Australian Government's procurement policy framework. The procurement policy framework establishes the principles for the Australian Government's acquisition of property and services.
- Providing advice and guidance on Australian Government procurement matters.
- Implementing the Government co-ordinated non-ICT procurement contracting initiative.
- Managing whole-of-government procurement information and AusTender, the Australian Government’s electronic tender system.
- Managing whole-of-government motor vehicle fleet and advertising contracts.
- Maintaining the Australian Government Recruitment Advertising Guidelines.
- Co-ordinating whole-of-government communication and advertising matters.

Procurement Policy Branch is responsible for procurement policy development, providing advice to the Government on the procurement policy framework and developing supporting guidance for agencies.

Procurement Implementation Branch is responsible for managing AusTender, the Australian Government's procurement information system and for building procurement expertise and capability across Australian Government agencies. It co-ordinates regular Forums to promote the understanding of procurement policy and to facilitate networking, this is supported by monthly Procurement Bulletins. The Branch manages a range of whole-of-government contracts including the motor vehicle fleet management and advertising contracts. It also administers the recruitment policy guidelines.

The Central Contracts Coordination Branch is responsible for initiating a range of whole-of-government contracts aimed at improving the price, quality and service-levels of goods and services purchased by agencies.
Communications Advice Branch

The Communications Advice Branch is responsible for providing policy, advice and co-ordination of whole-of-government communication and advertising matters. The Branch is responsible for providing advice on communications good practice, strategies and research, and assisting with the procurement of communications consultants. The Branch also provides a secretariat function associated with the Interdepartmental Committee on Communications.
Travel Arrangements Taskforce

The Travel Arrangements Taskforce is responsible for the procurements associated with three travel tenders – one each for travel management services, domestic and international air travel – and establishing contracting arrangements that will deliver better pricing arrangements and value for money outcomes for government.
